NAACP FIELD OPERATIONS
FIELD OPERATIONS
The Field Operation Department which is located in the National Office, is comprised of Regional Offices, State/State Area Conferences and Branches. They are the front line Units of the NAACP.
The Department is responsible for assisting Units with the implementation of the Strategic Plan, membership development and the policy, programs and procedures of the Association. It is the Field Operation Department's responsibility to assist NAACP Units and volunteers in implementing the goals and objectives of the Association. In addition, assuring that Branches are viable and capable of carrying out the Association's mission at the local level is another responsibility.
The Department provides the necessary training, tools and materials to carry out this task. It also requires dissemination and implementation of the Association policies and mandates. In conjunction with the National Office, these efforts are facilitated by the seven (7) Regional Offices located across the country.
Through civil rights advocacy and community organization, each Unit of the NAACP works to improve the political, educational, social, and economic status of minority groups and eliminate racial prejudice. They keep the public aware of the adverse effects of racial discrimination and take lawful action to secure its elimination. Their efforts are consistent with the policy of the National Organization and are in conformity with the Articles of Incorporation of the Association, its Constitution and Bylaws and as directed by the Board of Directors.
